Thought/question of the day: We all are killers

A recent thought that has occurred to me is — if we don’t kill a person but kill another living being does it make us a less killer than the one who kills a human?

Who said that humans have more right to live than the animals, birds or insects? How many ants do we kill while walking? How much grass do we tread while running? How many trees do we cut a day? How many flowers die every day just to make a girl smile?

Does it not mean that we are killers? And doesn’t our being the most rational creatures on earth double the severity of our “crime?”

And after all, doesn’t the fact of killing feelings in another person also enlist us among the killers?

If we think deep, we are all killers, but can it be prevented? Can it be root out? Are we really as innocent as we think we are? Do we remember to ask for forgiveness in our prayers for our everyday killings and murders? Do we think ourselves to be killers?

Note that this is just a thought, and I do not impose it on anyone, although for me, it’s a subject to ponder over.
